Tooth-Colored Fillings
What is Tooth Colored Fillings?
Tooth colored fillings are made from composite resin, a material that bonds strongly to the tooth and can be matched to its natural shade. They are used to restore teeth that have cavities, fractures or worn areas, and they allow us to repair damage in a conservative way compared with older silver amalgam fillings that require more removal of healthy tooth structure. Properly placed composite fillings can be both functional and highly aesthetic.
Why Choose Tooth Colored Fillings at Inci Dis?
Inci Dis follows strict protocols when placing composite fillings. We isolate the tooth as much as possible from saliva, prepare the cavity with minimal drilling and then apply the bonding agents and composite in thin layers. Each layer is cured with a special light to reduce shrinkage stress and improve the long term seal. Finally, the filling is shaped and polished so that it feels smooth and comfortable when you bite and does not create sharp edges or rough areas that trap plaque.
How the Process Works
For patients who already have metal fillings, we can often replace them with composite restorations as part of a wider aesthetic plan, provided that the remaining tooth structure is adequate. Our dentists will discuss which teeth are suitable for fillings and which ones would benefit more from onlays or crowns to avoid future fractures. We also explain how diet, grinding and oral hygiene can influence the lifespan of your fillings and how to recognise early signs that a restoration might need to be reviewed.
